October 20th, 2011, Vancouver, British Columbia – CLEAN SEED CAPITAL GROUP LTD. (the “Company”) (TSX Venture: CSX) announces that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the University of British Columbia. The primary purpose of this MOU is to establish a long term, mutually beneficial collaborative relationship between the Company and The UBC Center for Sustainable Food Systems (the “UBC Farm”).
The UBC Farm is a 24 hectare research and educational farm located on the University of British Columbia’s campus in Vancouver, Canada. The UBC Farm seeks to establish itself as an internationally significant educational and research center in the related fields of forestry, food systems and sustainable agriculture.
Clean Seed Capital Group facilitates the development of sustainable agriculture technologies and practices. Clean Seed is the parent company of Vesco Agricultural Technologies Ltd. (“Vesco”), a Company that has developed a patented No-Till farming technology that is applicable to both large-scale and small-scale farming operations. Vesco’s technology provides a number of benefits including reduced soil erosion, moisture retention, accurate seed and fertilizer placement and significant carbon sequestration in soil.
The Company intends to foster relationships with the UBC Farm’s contacts in the developing nations’ academic agriculture community, and the UBC Farm intends to foster relationships with Clean Seed’s contacts in the private sector business community and the agriculture academic community.
